Touch
Memory Systems
Touch Memories are dime sized batteries with memory chips inside them. They
can store up to 8,000 characters and be read and written to over a 10 year
period. The memories are read to or from by simply touching the memory to
the round metallic head attached to the reader module. The Production Line
Reader interfaces to a PC or other serial port to read and write data to the
touch memory. The Clinic Module allows the operator to enter numeric data
into the memory. Both modules shown above may be custom programmed to suit
the customer's needs.
IAS also integrates Touch Memories into our production test equipment eliminating the need for cumbersome barcode readers and database networked. In-process test information is stored with the unique touch memory assigned to the product under test. New test data may be stored into the memory at each test procedure. When the product under test completes its inspection cycle, the Touch Memory data is then downloaded into a small station which correlates the test data and provides valuable process feedback.
