Grinding Wheel Gauge
This system measures the thickness of diamond cutoff wheels for dicing 6" integrated circuit wafers into microchips. The system displays the average of three measuring points around either a 2.00" or a 4.15" grinding wheel to within +- .000030". The Solartron gauge probes are capable of measuring to an accuracy of +-0.000020- in. over a "measuring" range of 0.030 in and a resolution of 0.000005". The system software includes a full function report generator with statistical graphing of lot quantities. The wheel tray and measuring probes are driven pneumatically and controlled by the PC software via a custom IAS pneumatic control box. Full calibration and diagnostic programs facilitate quick compliance checks to ISO-2000 standards. The gauging fixture is made of special gauge steel, black coated, pinned and doweled for years of mechanical stability. A smoked Plexiglas cowl protects the pneumatic and electronic control wiring.
