• IAS Non-Contact, Corrugation Gauge
Hardware Features:
Visible Laser scanning head..
Scans surfaces up to 16” long.
The laser is permanently mounted to the gauge frame for maximum stiffness, moving the paper under the laser. The precision table has a travel of 16”, flatness under 50 um and pitch / yaw below 100 arc-seconds. The new laser is tunable to errors due to surface color and finish. The laser gauge reads a Corrugation Gauge Block within .00025”, or better, of the actual gauge block. This is twice the required accuracy and resolution required by most customers.
The image to the left is a screen shot of the gauge program scan of the IAS Corrugation Gauge Block with peaks certified at 0.0244 +- 0.0001 inches.
Filtering: The gauge program includes selection for No filtering, Low-pass for warped paper and Band-pass for fiberglass paper. These selections may changes after the paper scan to allow you to select the best fit.
Correction: A programmable text file stores selectable multipliers for the graph points.
If the operator selects 1.0, NO_CORRECTION, the gauge will plot all points as received from the gauge. Selecting the 2.0, TIMES_2 will cause the gauge to multiply all graph points by 2, giving peak heights of twice the height.Tune: The gauge automatically scans 4” of material while the gauge amplifier tunes the laser to the surface finish and color.
Zero: Sets the current gauge reading to zero inches.
Operating system: The gauging program runs on Windows XP/Vista and requires one USB port to operate the gauge.
Digital Micrometer: The instrument includes a digital micrometer to allow for in-place verification of laser gauge height and calibration.
Applications:
Peak and Valley measurements for corrugated paper
